Captain Morgan Tiki Bottle

Project Summary
Diageo, parent company of Captain Morgan, were looking to launch their new flavour variant of their spiced rum, inspired by flavours of the Caribbean with notes of mango and pineapple.
Our brief was to design a new bespoke glass bottle and label graphics for the launch of this Tiki inspired Caribbean flavoured spiced rum drink. True to the brand's history, the Captain would be front and centre of the voyage ahead.

The really exciting and intriguing part of the development of this bottle was to translate the silhouette of the totem face inspired design in to the bottle. We needed to ensure that the faces were three dimensional and sculptural so all the intricacies were recognisable in glass but still maintaining feasibility for production.
We went through multiple rounds of development in order to refine the totem face and ensure it looked fantastic, 360 degrees around the bottle. Due to our knowledge and expertise in glass bottle design and manufacture, our finalised development seamlessly translated into the finished product with almost no changes required; as illustrated in the concept, development, realisation illustrations above.
The Design
Our finalised bottle proudly stands uniquely on shelf as a desirably piece of visibility for Captain Morgan, harmonised with their range but daring to push the boundaries of playful storytelling.
Our concept was to evoke the totem in the crew's secret cabin. The Captain's cabin was his castle - a place of refuge and revelry. But few know about his other cabin, and probably his best kept secret - the legendary Hawaiian hideaway.
The Captain's adventures through the South Pacific Islands are uniquely captured by this design and showcase the new Tiki flavour variants perfectly.
